We try and encourage all children to eat a sensible balanced diet. We do not allow glass bottles, canned fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate to be included in packed lunches. If your child will be going home for lunch, then you need to provide written permission for the class teacher.
Each day Chartwell delivers a range of healthy meals that are served in our hall. These include a meat, vegetarian and jacket potato option every day.
In line with the government’s policy for Universal Infant Free School Meals, all our children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive a government funded school meal every day. Children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 can also order school meals at a cost of £2.25 per day. Alternatively children can bring a healthy packed lunch into school if they prefer.
At Eastfield Academy, we use the ParentPay system for booking school meals. Meal choices must be made for every child having a hot meal, even children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receiving Universal Free School Meals. Bookings on ParentPay must be submitted by noon on a Tuesday for meal deliveries the following week. It is possible to book meals weekly, monthly or termly on ParentPay.
Please contact the school office to obtain a username and password.
Children going home for lunch should be back on school premises at 1.00pm for afternoon registration, but not before.
Parents in receipt of any of the following may be entitled to receive free school meals for their child. Please ask at the school office for more details or apply online at www.northamptonshire.gov.uk or phone 01604 236656. Lunch at Eastfield Academy is a communal experience in which the children can socialise and enjoy their meal.
Eastfield Academy’s Breakfast Club is open to all school age pupils from 8am each school day. The cost is £2 per child per session and places must be booked in advance at the school office. At breakfast club pupils can enjoy a healthy breakfast as well as the opportunity to mix and play with friends.
