Pupils meet new Associate Headteacher

Pupils from Eastfield Academy have been getting to know their new Associate Headteacher, ahead of her taking up the position full-time in September.

Tracey Hamilton, has been recruited to help lead the academy next year, and is very eager to ensure that success at the Northampton primary school continues.

Mrs Hamilton commented: “I am delighted to be joining the team at Eastfield. There is definitely a feeling of positivity at this academy and a ‘can do’ attitude, which I really admire.

“I have already received a very warm welcome from children and their parents and have been impressed by their support at this early stage. I have also been attending lots of meetings with the Executive Headteacher to ensure this academy continues to excel.”

At the beginning of July, Mrs Hamilton, joined staff and pupils at the David Ross Education Trust Summer Cup, a festival of competitive sport attended by a host of Commonwealth and Olympic stars.

She said: “I was so impressed with the event and delighted that I got the opportunity to experience it with the children. I have never seen a sports day like it. The children were in awe of meeting the professional athletes, and were so excited to compete against all the other academies. I felt proud to be able to support them.”

Eastfield Academy is sponsored by the David Ross Education Trust, which also sponsors a number of other academies in the town including, Malcolm Arnold Academy and the Arbours Primary Academy.

Mr Hill, Executive Headteacher, commented: “We have a dedicated staff team and very motivated pupils and I am very proud of the progress we have made in such a short space of time.

“It has been a pleasure to welcome Mrs Hamilton to our team and I am confident that she will only help us to continue to drive our academy’s successes.”
