Uniform
At Eastfield Academy, all pupils wear our school uniform with pride.
Wearing our school uniform and having the correct PE kit in school are both included in our 6 Golden Expectations.

Our dress code provides a smart, safe and healthy appearance, particularly for PE.
You will be informed by the class teacher when your child is to have PE or swimming. Even in bad weather, children will still have PE lessons. Please make sure that the right kit and footwear are sent to school on those days. If pupils arrive without their kit it undermines their legal entitlement to the full National Curriculum and causes major disruption for all boys and girls awaiting their lessons.
It is our school policy that all children wear school uniform when attending school, or when participating in a school organised event outside normal school hours unless you are informed otherwise.
In Reception, children are provided with a book bag as a "Welcome to Eastfield gift". This book bag is expected to be used from Reception to year 6 - new book bags can be ordered from the My Child at School app.
Rucksacks are not permitted in school due to space available for storage.
Our Uniform
Reception, Years 1, 2, 3 & 4
- Royal blue V-neck jumper or cardigan, ideally with the school badge
- White polo shirt
- Grey trousers, skirt or pinafore
- Grey shorts may be worn during the summer
- Blue checked summer dresses may be worn during the summer
- Plain black, white or grey socks or tights
- Black polishable school shoes
- Black polishable boots may be worn during the winter
- Smart, plain black trainers with no coloured soles
- School tie – compulsory for Years 3 and 4
Years 5 & 6
- School blazer with the school badge
- Royal blue jumper or cardigan, ideally with the school badge
- White shirt or blouse
- School tie – compulsory
- Grey trousers, skirt or pinafore
- Grey shorts may be worn during the summer
- Blue checked summer dresses may be worn during the summer
- Plain black, white or grey socks or tights
- Black polishable school shoes
- Black polishable boots may be worn during the winter
- Smart, plain black trainers with no coloured soles
PE Kit
Children should wear:
- Black shorts or black joggers
- White T-shirt
- Trainers or plimsolls
- Reception to Year 4 – plain school jumper
- Years 5 and 6 – plain blue or black jumper with no hood
Converse-style shoes or similar footwear are not permitted for PE.
No jewellery may be worn during PE lessons.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL CLOTHING IS CLEARLY LABELLED WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME.
Hairstyles
Hair should be neat and appropriate for school.
Long hair must be tied back at all times.
Shaved hairstyles which include patterns, lines, words or logos are not permitted.
Jewellery
For safety reasons, children may wear one pair of stud earrings only, worn in the ears.
An analogue or digital watch may also be worn, but any alarms must be switched off.
Smart watches are not permitted in school. If a child brings a smart watch into school, it will be removed and kept in the school office for an adult to collect.
Mobile Phones
Only pupils in Years 5 and 6 are permitted to bring a mobile phone into school.
Phones must be:
- Switched off on arrival
- Handed to the class teacher for safekeeping
If a phone is found which has not been handed to the teacher, it will be removed and taken to the school office for an adult to collect.
School Bags
A school book bag is compulsory for all pupils. Children do not need to bring a rucksack as well as their book bag.
Each new starter will receive their first book bag free of charge.
Replacement or additional book bags cost £7 and can be purchased through the My Child at School (MCAS) app.
